Summary
The second edition of an event connecting hardware startups with Tokyo's small manufacturing workshops (machi-koba). Following the first session in May, it shares practical know-how for getting past the productization wall: how to make first contact with factories, communicate designs to craftspeople, and find the right prototyping and mass-production partners.
In the first dialogue, Kosuke Sasa (Prime Life Technologies) and Takeshi Kosaka (Innovation Plus) discuss how hardware startups can use ecosystems such as the Haneda Asahi project and the Monozukuri Collective. In the second, Takamitsu Ikoma (ICOMA) and Makoto Yuzawa (SUIHO SPACE INNOVATIONS) talk about how their startups met factory partners and brought products to market.
The evening closes with networking among clients, startups, and factory representatives. Held at Tokyo Innovation Base 1F Square1; free, capacity 50, and pre-registration in the TIB member app is required for entry.
About the community
A recurring series at Tokyo Innovation Base for people involved in manufacturing: hardware startups, small factories, and clients commissioning development. Each session pairs dialogue-style talks with networking aimed at sparking concrete prototyping and production partnerships.
