University of Bristol & RIKEN-AIP Joint Workshop 2026

RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project (AIP) and the University of Bristol hold a joint online workshop, bringing together machine learning researchers from both institutions for an evening of short research talks (17:30 to 21:00 JST). The program opens with remarks from Peter Flach and Masashi Sugiyama, followed by 15-minute talks alternating between Bristol and RIKEN-AIP speakers. Topics include open and reliable GeoAI, why video models struggle on real-world data, feature learning theory for test-time inference, information-theoretic generalization beyond supervised learning, causality-seeking agents, statistically reliable anomaly localization in medical images with diffusion models, tensor network principles for efficient AI, and learning in games.
