Summary
A full-day online research workshop co-organized by AIVP, RIKEN-AIP, A*STAR CFAR, and NTU, bringing together researchers working on the theoretical and applied edges of machine learning. The program runs 10:30 to 18:10 JST and pairs faculty with early-career AIVP researchers across two regions.
Talks span non-convex optimization on probability measure spaces, fair allocation of indivisible items, possibilistic variational inference and predictive uncertainty, reward modeling for reinforcement learning, parallel sampling for diffusion models, Langevin dynamics for training-free guided generation, maximum entropy under Carre du Champ constraints, learning symplectic forms, and token-ordering for diffusion language models.
Speakers include Taiji Suzuki, Ayumi Igarashi, Masashi Sugiyama, Huanjian Zhou, Atsushi Nitanda, Takaharu Yaguchi, Shelvia Wongso, Ni Yao, Tanya Veeravalli, and Dake Bu, representing the University of Tokyo, RIKEN-AIP, Kyushu University, NTU, A*STAR, and City University of Hong Kong.
About the community
RIKEN-AIP is Japan's national AI research center, hosting groups across machine learning theory, generic AI, and goal-oriented AI projects. Its public seminars and joint workshops bring together academic and international partner labs for talks aimed at researchers and graduate students.
