Summary
A networking event at Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB, 2F ROOM) for people interested in starting a business, relocating or taking over an existing business on the Noto Peninsula. After the 2024 earthquake and heavy rains, Noto is becoming a place for new ventures, and guests speak from different positions: entrepreneurs operating in Noto, business owners who restarted after the disaster, and Ishikawa Prefecture officials.
Part 1 is a guest talk on what it means to start a business in a rural region and why Noto now. Part 2 is small-group roundtables on themes such as starting up in Noto and Ishikawa's support programs. Part 3 is networking over Noto sake and local specialties. Planned speakers include Wataru Okada, a software engineer who moved to Noto and founded Noras Inc., and Akira Arata, who handles startup support at Ishikawa Prefecture.
Free, with about 60 in-person seats; applications close on October 28. Entry to TIB requires registering on the TIB app in advance.
About the community
An initiative that treats recovery on the Noto Peninsula as a process of creating new value rather than restoring the past, supporting entrepreneurship, relocation and business succession. It connects city-based professionals interested in rural ventures and regional challenges with Noto businesses and support organizations.
