Summary
Japan Innovation Campus (JIC), opened in Silicon Valley in November 2023 with support from Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), reports on nearly three years of activity at this Tokyo event. JIC has operated as a community and coworking space helping Japanese startups expand into the US.
Startups active in the US, SONIRE Therapeutics (medtech), Kailas Robotics (robotics, joined by JR East Startup) and bitBiome (biotech), share how they built networks, partnered with US companies, universities and research institutions, and drew on Japanese partners, including what did not work. The program includes a METI policy update, a JIC activity report, a panel and networking.
