Summary
A lounge-style gathering for CXOs at startups, held right after the workday, where people in the same seat can talk openly about the things that are hard to raise inside their own companies. The premise is that startup CXOs are often isolated: there is rarely anyone nearby at the same level to compare notes with.
The full hour, 17:00 to 18:00, is given over to networking. Expected conversation covers recent business progress, problems people are currently stuck on, opinions on what is happening in the industry, and whether there is room to work together. Failures and unresolved difficulties are explicitly as welcome as success stories. There is no attendance cap, and arriving late or leaving early is fine.
The venue is the 3rd floor of Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB). Entry requires registering in the TIB app and showing a QR code, so registering in advance is needed for smooth entry on the day.
About the community
CXO Lounge is a low-key weekday-evening gathering aimed at startup leadership (CEOs, COOs and other CXOs). There are no talks and no set programme: the whole hour goes to conversation between attendees, with the goal of building ongoing ties among people holding the same kind of role. It suits anyone looking for peers to think through management problems with, or wanting to connect across the startup scene without a formal setting.
