[Advanced] Circuit Design Course: Build a Mint Tin Headphone Amplifier

A hands-on, advanced-level workshop in which participants build a miniature portable headphone amplifier that fits inside a mint tin. The circuit compensates for the low output voltage of portable players so headphones can perform closer to their potential, and the session covers the whole path from board assembly to a finished unit. The staff member who developed the design walks through the layout techniques used to fit every component into the very limited space inside the tin. The agenda covers assembling the board, machining the case (drilling and filing), and fitting the electronics into it. Participants take the finished amplifier home. Because the build involves fine component work and dense soldering, prior fluency with hand tools (drilling, filing) and soldering is assumed. Open to adults 18 and over, capped at 5 seats, 1,600 yen including materials. It runs at TIB FAB on the 2nd floor of Tokyo Innovation Base in Marunouchi, from 11:00 (arrive 10:50) to 16:00 with a lunch break. Anyone who does not finish in time takes the unit home unassembled.
