Summary
This is Demo Day, the closing session of Hokenno Katachi 2026, a hackathon run by the GuardTech community and FP Cross Initiative to push collaboration and co-creation across the insurance industry. Participating teams built customer-centric insurance and risk-care service ideas on top of insurance and risk-care APIs.
Teams that cleared the first round of judging present their entries, answer questions from the judging panel, and then face final judging. Awards follow: a grand prize, a runner-up prize, honorable mentions, and special awards, followed by a closing and a group photo. The team list mixes corporate entrants such as Itochu Techno-Solutions, Tata Consultancy Services Japan, Optage, and Living Technologies with an individual entrant. Judges come from law firms, life and non-life insurers, consulting firms, academia, and the insurance trade press.
The event is in-person only. Doors open at 16:30 and Demo Day starts at 17:00. A standing reception runs from 19:00 in the same room and is open to anyone holding a ticket. Attendance is free, but entry to the venue requires TIB membership registration, done in advance through the TIB app.
About the community
A hands-on community of insurers, agencies, IT vendors, consultants, and independent developers testing what can actually be built in insurance and risk care. The focus is customer-centric product design and API-driven service development, organized around hackathon-format programming where practitioners and judges from inside and outside the industry argue things out in the same room. Demo Day is open to the public, so people who did not compete can watch and join the reception.
