Summary
The 26th edition of TIB PITCH focuses on the TIB SHOP overseas pop-up track, aimed at startups preparing to expand beyond Japan. Selected companies get a period of test marketing at an overseas base, and this round is planned for Malaysia.
Thirteen startups present: six in the product category and seven in the food and beverage category. They include ICOMA with its compact robotics mobility "tatamo!", Cospa Lab with "SKETTO", a patented bin that does not need to be sealed, and FLH with "NELAX", a weighted eye mask developed with Yamagata University. The food and beverage lineup covers gluten-free banana bread, traditionally brewed barley tea, and plant-based Japanese confectionery. Attendees can taste and try the products on site.
Five judges take part, including corporate venture capital leads and practitioners who support overseas expansion. Networking with the presenting startups and the judges follows the pitches. Attendance is free with prior registration. The venue is the second floor of Tokyo Innovation Base, 30 seconds on foot from JR Yurakucho Station, with doors at 16:00.
About the community
This pitch series runs regularly under a rotating set of themes, including trial-deployment tracks, shop tracks, and overseas expansion support. It draws startups, large companies, VCs and financial institutions, government bodies, and media, all interested in working with startups. Alongside the presentations, attendees can taste or try the products and talk with the judges. Selected companies move on to concrete next steps such as trial deployment, an exhibit on site, or a slot in the shop.
