Summary
Tokyo Hackerspace runs an open house on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 to 22:00 at its space in Akasaka, near Nogizaka. The format is deliberately informal: drop in, introduce yourself, and find out what the members are building and how the space works. The workshop equipment is available to use during the evening, though the organizers note that machines such as the 3D printers and the laser cutter need a long setup time, so an open house night is not the best slot for a job on those. Simpler hand tools and bench work fit the session better. The space is at 8-12-13 Akasaka, Minato City, room 102 of the Azalea Akasaka building. Access details are published on the Tokyo Hackerspace site.
About the community

A member-run hackerspace in central Tokyo with a shared workshop covering electronics, 3D printing, laser cutting, and general fabrication. Open house nights run twice a week, on Tuesday and Wednesday, and are aimed at newcomers as much as regulars: no project or prior experience is required to visit. Conversation is mostly in English, with Japanese speakers among the regulars, and the space publishes its listings in both languages.
