Summary
Coffee and Code is an informal working session at the Starbucks in the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower lobby. Participants bring a laptop, order a coffee, and spend the morning working on whatever they are building or studying. There is no talk schedule and no presentation slot: the format is simply people sitting together, comparing notes, and asking each other questions.
The group is open to anyone who writes code or works in an IT-related field, including people who have not started yet and want a low-pressure place to begin. Attendees come from a mix of backgrounds, with residents, students, and visitors to Tokyo all taking part. Conversation is mostly in English, and both beginners and experienced developers are equally welcome.
Two practical notes from the organizers. The venue does not offer charging on weekends, so bring a charged battery or a power bank. Many participants continue on to lunch at a nearby restaurant from around 12:30, which is an easy way to keep talking after the session ends.
About the community
A recurring, casual meetup for coders and IT workers in Tokyo that runs as a co-working morning rather than a talk series. There is no fixed agenda: people bring laptops, work on personal or professional projects, ask for help, and swap tips over coffee. It is deliberately open to all levels and nationalities, so complete beginners sit alongside working engineers, and many regulars carry on to a group lunch nearby afterwards.
