Summary
Nerd Nite Tokyo celebrates ten years with its 79th edition at Study Abroad Pub near Shin-Okubo, featuring two talks themed around karaoke. Matt Kaemmerer returns with a praxis-oriented session on karaoke mashups, explaining why and how mixing lyrics across songs works and offering tips to try at your next session. Visiting speaker Benjamin Poynter follows with reflections on how a microphone transforms personas, plus a preview of Duo-sing-o, his concept for using karaoke as a language-learning tool. Doors open at 19:00 with talks starting at 19:45. Entry is 1,000 yen at the door. Talks and Q&A are conducted in English. The evening will not be livestreamed, but recordings will be posted afterward.
