Summary
Introduction Pitch vol.1 is a pitch and networking event where international founders building startups in Japan present their products, services, and vision. The speakers are Startup Visa holders supported by Shibuya Startup Support, and they share their entrepreneurial journeys in Japan alongside their startups and future plans. This first session features Louis from JLPT matome, an all-in-one e-learning platform that helps Japanese learners prepare for the JLPT through structured lessons, flashcards, and realistic simulations, and Ethan from BEVATAR, which deploys AI avatars for natural human-AI interaction across retail, healthcare, exhibitions, and humanoid robotics. The schedule runs a pitch and Q&A session from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by networking from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Attendees also learn how Shibuya Startup Support, an initiative of the Shibuya City Office, backs international entrepreneurs with guidance, visa and incorporation support, and access to the local ecosystem.
About the community

A recurring pitch series for people plugged into Japan's international startup scene: founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, and anyone considering launching a company in Japan. Each session pairs short product pitches from visa-supported founders with an open Q&A and an hour of in-person networking, and doubles as an entry point for newcomers who want to understand the support on offer for international entrepreneurs.
