Global Startup Ecosystem Meeting - Special Edition

A meetup organized by the Startup Ecosystem Association Japan (SEAJ) for Japanese startups weighing international expansion. Representatives from embassies, chambers of commerce, and trade and investment promotion organizations gather in one room so that founders can compare, side by side, what each country actually offers. The premise is that this support exists in quantity but sits scattered across agencies and languages, so startups that would qualify often never learn it is there. The first 90 minutes are country presentations, 7 to 10 minutes each, from an expected 6 to 10 countries. Each covers its startup ecosystem at a high level (market size, key industries, major players), the concrete support programs open to Japanese startups (travel grants, visa routes, soft-landing programs, local accelerators and communities), basic ground rules on regulation, taxation and incorporation, and case studies of Japanese companies that have already made the move. Speakers include the U.S. Embassy Tokyo, Business France and the French Embassy, a French government expert seconded to METI, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Netherlands Embassy, and the Swiss Business Hub Japan. After a short break, the format shifts at 16:00 to booth-style networking for one-on-one consultations with country representatives, followed by a reception from 17:00. The venue is Tokyo Innovation Base, 1F Square-2 in Chiyoda City, running 14:00 to 18:00. Support organizations, accelerators, VCs, and media are also expected to attend.
