Global Startup Ecosystem Meeting - Special Edition

This meetup brings together representatives from embassies, chambers of commerce, and trade and investment promotion organizations to present, in one sitting, the support available to Japanese startups that want to expand abroad. Travel and accommodation grants, soft-landing programs, local accelerators, and business matching are covered so attendees can compare how each country's schemes differ. The first half consists of country presentations of seven to ten minutes each, with roughly six to ten countries expected. Each covers its own startup ecosystem (market size and major players), the expansion support programs open to Japanese companies, basic information on regulations, taxation, and incorporation, and case studies of Japanese startups that have already entered the market. The second half shifts to booth-style networking, with one-on-one consultations and card exchange with the country representatives, closing with a reception. The format is aimed at companies weighing an overseas move as well as support organizations, accelerators, VCs, and media on the ecosystem side.
