A one-day hackathon that brings filmmakers, creative professionals, and engineers together to produce narrative short films using current AI production tools. Teams form at kick-off and work through the full production process, from generation and editing to a final presentation, using tools provided by the event sponsors. The schedule runs from 10:00 to 20:00 on July 19th: kick-off and team building at 10:00, lunch and an AI workshop at 12:00, generating and editing from 13:00, and presentations plus an awards ceremony at 19:00. A workshop led by working filmmakers and AI practitioners sits in the middle of the day. Winning films are slated for a screening at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood as part of the Global Stage Hollywood event in October 2026. Capacity is capped at 100 people and the event is run in both English and Japanese. The room is aimed at video creators, VFX artists, animators, editors, software engineers, AI developers and researchers, and entrepreneurs. The venue is in Kawasaki and is disclosed after sign-up.
About the community

A professional AI community of over 3,000 members, mostly Tokyo-based engineers, researchers, investors, product managers, and corporate innovation leads. It runs a regular program of talks, socials, and hands-on events across AI topics, and this hackathon is co-run with an international AI video community and a Hollywood entertainment programme. Events are typically open to both English and Japanese speakers.
