Summary
A one-day hackathon hosted by ai& and AMD inside AMD Advancing AI Japan. Eight captains from AMD system-integrator partners bring real customer problems, and eight teams (40 builders in total) get about four and a half hours to build a working prototype, then demo it in five minutes that evening.
Teams build on ai& inference, which serves open-weight models such as Kimi, GLM, Qwen and MiniMax on AMD accelerators behind OpenAI-compatible endpoints hosted in Japan. Applications are individual, require a project link and a short note on what you want to work on, and close on 9 November. The venue is Palace Hotel Tokyo in Marunouchi; participation is free with meals and the reception included, and either Japanese or English is fine. Work is open-sourced by default with customer specifics removed.
About the community
ai& Build Day is a hackathon format in which company captains bring real business problems and selected developers join them in mixed teams to build something that runs in a few hours. Teams are mixed-language by design, and it targets builders who have used LLM APIs and want to connect AI to real-world problems.
