Summary
This is the 538th Sendagaya.rb meetup, held online. The group gathers on Google Meet, and the start time has been moved to 21:00. The session opens with self-introductions while participants decide what to discuss, then covers one topic from 21:30 and another from 22:00, with the meetup scheduled to wrap up at 22:30 (it sometimes runs on until around 23:00).
Suggested topics include anything that caught people's attention at RubyKaigi 2026 or Kaigi on Rails 2025, plus questions about problems attendees have hit in their own development work. Other standing candidates are reading through the Ruby Hacking Guide, the Rails Guides and its security guide, the books 'Ruby Under a Microscope' and 'Metaprogramming Ruby', the Rails 7.1 changelog, REST architecture, and how OpenID Connect works. The actual agenda is set by what participants request. Working quietly on your own research or project is equally welcome.
The only thing to bring is a laptop. If you have something you want to discuss, post it in the community Slack beforehand or raise it during introductions on the day.
About the community
A local Rubyist community based in the western part of Tokyo for people interested in Ruby, Rails and the tooling around them. Sessions are numbered and run regularly, with no fixed agenda: what gets discussed is decided from the topics and questions participants bring on the day. Beginners are welcome, and members keep talking between sessions on Slack and in a Facebook group.
