Summary
Sendagaya.rb #528 is an online study session run by a local Rubyist community based in the western part of Tokyo, held over Google Meet. Note that the start time for this session has been changed to 21:00. The format is flexible: participants discuss topics that caught their attention at RubyKaigi 2026 and Kaigi on Rails 2025, ask for help with development problems they are stuck on, and otherwise set themes based on the needs of the people who show up.
Candidate topics include reading through the Ruby Hacking Guide and Rails Guides, the security guide, books such as Ruby Under a Microscope and the Rails chapters of Metaprogramming Ruby, the Rails 7.1 changelog, deepening understanding of REST architecture, and learning how OpenID Connect works as a follow-on to OAuth2. These are only tentative, and requests or proposals via Slack are welcome.
The rough timeline is doors and self-introductions at 21:00, followed by discussion of chosen themes, with a planned wrap-up at 22:30 (an extended session sometimes runs until around 23:00). Bring a laptop. Beginners are welcome.
