Summary
OSS Gate is a community that, since its launch event in December 2015, has worked to steadily grow the number of people who continuously take part in open source development. To mark its tenth anniversary, it is holding its first conference, "OSS Gate Pass." This is the first time people connected to OSS Gate from across Japan gather in one place to look back on the results of the past decade.
The program runs from 13:30 to 17:00 and centers on short, 10-minute talks. Speakers share memorable experiences from their involvement, with titles such as "My career cannot be told without OSS Gate" and "An internal-buy-in campaign that started with OSS Gate," and the group considers together where the activity should go next. First-time speakers are welcome.
The venue is ANDPAD in Mita, Minato-ku, Tokyo, with a social gathering scheduled from 17:00. The organizers are also calling for session proposals, talks, travel and lodging support for speakers coming from outside Tokyo, and sponsors.
About the community
A community that runs workshops across Japan where newcomers experience the first steps of contributing to open source, along with onboarding sessions that support the second step. Its goal is to steadily grow the number of people who continuously take part in OSS development, working across regions and communities.
